PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar celebrates 'Teej' with exuberance and grandeur.

Department of Punjabi of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar celebrated 'Teej' in all its resplendence and glory. Mrs Chander Mohini Markanda was the chief guest of the day. Students and staff members took part in all merriment. Students exhibited their intrinsic talents through folk dance and folk song. Mehendi and bangle stalls were put up. A swing was laid down in the college premises to enliven the ancient heritage of the festival of Teej exemplifying love and fertility.
The festival is observed every year in the monsoons as a cheery reminiscence to the Punjabi culture and its ambience by the newly-wedded women who visit their parents' houses and revel in festive glee with their sisters and friends. It is worth mentioning that the festival is also celebrated in other parts of the country wherein it transcends religious boundaries.
Reverent Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar and the magnanimous management of the institution commended the endeavours of the department in perpetuating the legacy of the yearly fiesta across generations.
