PCM S.D. Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jalandhar celebrates International Daughters’ Day.

 

To sensitize the society regarding the utmost significance of girls in social fabric and promote women empowerment and gender equality, PCM S.D Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jalandhar celebrated the Daughters’ Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mrs. Parveen Abrol, the founder of the renowned NGO Divya Drishti who impressed the students immensely with her candid views on gender equality in her address to the students. Later showcasing their talents in diverse fields, the girls of the school performed various activities such as Classical Dance, Punjabi folk dance, mimicry, songs, poetical recitation poster making, speeches and skit during the event. Jubilant at such enthusiastic participation of the students, the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar stated that the organization of such events is in accordance with the vision of the Management who is ardently working for the cause of women empowerment by making girls educated and preparing them to meet the challenges in the global world. She also maintained that the objective for celebrating this day has been to spread awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by the daughters in the country, to promote awareness about the rights of a girl and to increase awareness regarding the importance of girl education, health and nutrition. She also applauded the efforts of the in-charge of the school Mrs. Sangita Sharma in the successful organization of such events.
