A
guest lecture was organized by the department of Science on the topic ‘Development
of Technical and Innovative Skills’. Dr. Vineet Khullar was the Guest of
Honour. He held that students and science professionals in their early career
should strive for sharpening their technical skills with an attitude to think
out of the box which will eventually pay. One must inculcate within oneself
critical faculty and an acumen for reasoning right at the onset. He also laid
considerable emphasis on the need to have diverse skills which help in
excelling in the field of teaching, research and development. Apart from
addressing the questions of the students, he shared glimpses of his research in
the area of near –field optics and potential impact of his invention. Principal
Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora averred that Dr. Vineet is well-known for making
innovative table, top science models and his technical skills are exceptionally
remarkable. Dr. Khullar is currently working for a laser manufacturing company
in Massachussets, USA.
