Department of Political Science and NSS Unit of PCM S.D. College for Women organised National Integration Day

Rashtriya Ekta Divas was celebrated by the department of Political Science and NSS Unit on the eve of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The students took pledge to protect the unity and integrity of India and participated in a Rally ‘Run for Unity’. Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora paid floral tribute to Sardar Patel. Madam addressed the students and interacted with them about the massive contribution made by Sardar Patel. Poster making competition was also organized on the occasion by the department of Political Science. Around 70 students from different streams took part in all activities. Mrs. Tripta Handa, Associate Prof, Dept of Political Science and Dr.(Mrs.) Surinder Narula, Incharge NSS organized the entire event and marked their presence to make it a success.

NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of PCM SD College for Women hold AIDS and Drug Free Awareness Rally

NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of PCM SD College for Women hold AIDS and Drug Free Awareness Rally under Red Ribbon Scheme 2019-20. The rally started from the college and took a march towards Arjun Nagar, Mohalla Gobindgarh and returned back to the college under the leadership of Madam Principal, Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora. In this rally Incharges of NSS and the Red Cross Unit – Dr.(Mrs.) Surinder Narula, Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Gupta, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Mrs. Navneet, Mrs. Sunita Bhalla and the volunteers of NSS and Red Cross participated. The volunteers encouraged the masses to fight against this battle.

PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar celebrates Green Diwali

Green Diwali was celebrated in the college premises organized by the members of the Central Association. The staff members and students took an oath of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali with a concern for environment and of burning out ego instead of crackers. The students made beautiful rangolis and adorned the college with flowers, diyas and other decorations. A prayer song was chanted as an invocation to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Rangoli competition was held in the IT block. Students of the Collegiate block participated in Chart Making, Rangoli and Diya Making. Winners were awarded with prizes.

Department of Fashion Designing of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar holds Diwali Festa

PG Department of Fashion Designing organized an Interclass competition on Diwali Festa. Students of B.Voc Fashion Designing and Product Sem I and Sem III, B.Sc. Sem I, III & V, M.Sc. Sem I & III, P.G. Diploma Sem I and UG (Casuals) participated in this competition. Students made different Diwali items by using waste materials such as decorative diyas, decorative thaalis, candle stands, diya stands, cards, Wall hangings, pots, stencils, decorative show pieces etc. These items were exhibited also. Dr. Kiran Arora, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts made by Mrs. Sunita Bhalla, Head of the Department and other staff members. Winners were awarded with prizes.
