NCC Cadets of our college have always been
engaged in activities through which they create awareness among public on
vibrant-social issues. It remains and irrefutable fact today that Punjab has
fallen into the grip of drug abuse and there is an urgency to combat this
issue. In order to bring home their point, the NCC Unit performed a ‘Nukkad N atak’
on Drug Abuse in Punjab at Jalandhar Bus Stand under the dynamic leadership of
Colonel Jasbir Singh, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab Girls Batallion and
Lieutenant, Priya Mahajan, Associate NCC Officer. An attempt was made to show
the ill-effects of drug abuse in Punjab, brooding as to how it was once a rich
land of Gurus. They dramatized the plight of the drug addicts and their
families. They also suggested ways to get rid of this menace. Principal
Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora lauded the endeavours of Lieutenant Priya Mahajan and NCC Cadets. She maintained that
such plays serve as eye-opener to the general public, particularly, Youth, in
manifesting the ugly picture of the drug-ingested population. Along with
cadets, Assistant Professor, Shivangi, CHM K. Kumar, Subedar R.R. Sharma and
CHM Jay Parkash also contributed for the social cause.
