International Yoga Day celebrated at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar

International Yoga Day was celebrated in PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar by the Dept of Cosmetology. Yog Guru Mr. Shwetank Anand made the students aware of the importance of Yoga & Meditation in daily life. He acknowledged the students that it will them to improve the Concentration and focus in the studies. Yoga and meditation can have many surprising impacts on both mental and physical health. Practicing Yoga improves balance, endurance, flexibility, and strength, while meditation helps to keep the mind sharp, relieves stress and anxiety, and can strengthen the immune system. Students took keen interest in this valuable session by doing various yoga Aasnas. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora motivated the students to make Yoga as part and parcel of their daily routine. Mrs. Sushma Sharma, Co-ordinator of Beauty and Body Fitness Course, Mrs. Daljit Kaur, Head, Dept of Cosmetology, Mrs. Tripta Handa, Ms. Apeksha Bajaj, Mrs. Parmjit and other faculty members also participated in this occasion.

Educational Trip to Jung -e- Azadi Museum by PCM S.D. Collegiate Sen. Sec. Girls School, Jalandhar

PCM S.D. Collegiate Sen. Sec. School organized an Educational trip to renowned tourist attraction Jung-e- Azadi Museum in Kartarpur. Students were enlightened to visit the memorial being built in the memory of contribution and unparalleled sacrifices made by Punjabi community in Indian independence movement. The place is well maintained and very spacious. The museum disseminated the knowledge about the rich culture heritage of Punjab in the minds of the young students. It made them feel proud of their freedom fighters. The trip was immensely fruitful in bringing forth an awareness about the efforts made by our freedom fighters in bringing independence in india. Mrs. Monika Sharma Co-incharge, Mrs. Shikha activity incharge, Ms. Kanika, Mrs. Kusum accompanied the students. Principal Dr. Kiran arora and Mrs. Sangita sharma in-charge of the School appreciated the fruitful efforts of the faculty.

News of summer camp by Dance Deptt being organised in SD College, Jalandhar

Summer camp is being organised by PCM S.D. Collegiate Sr. Sec. School for Girls Jalandhar  from 1st June to 8th June. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora and Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma incharge inaugurated the camp. On the first day of the camp, Head of the Dance deptt. Dr.Sugandhi Bhandari and Miss.Reena Assis.Prof.taught the basics of Bhangra, Sammi and Hip-hop steps to the students. Students were thrilled to learn the basics of "Sammi Dance" and Bhangra as they are traditional dances of Punjab. Students performed at various beats of Bhangra and Sammi. They were very enthusiastic to perform and learn various forms of Indian Folk Dances.
