The NCC wing of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized a Tree Plantation Drive to sensitize the students and the common public regarding the most urgent need of increasing the green cover in our nation. In this drive, the NCC Cadets under the able guidance of Lieutenant Priya Mahajan participated vigorously in planting trees in the college campus and the adjoining areas. The main objective behind this drive was to make our students real warriors for the protection of environment and thus contribute in decreasing air pollution and increasing flora and fauna. Brigadier Aditya Madan, the Commanding Officer of Jalandhar Group and Colonel Narinder Toor, the Commanding officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalian eulogized the efforts of the college NCC cadets in safeguarding the deteriorating environment. Applauding the cadets for their enthusiasm in the event and appreciating the efforts of the NCC in-charge Lieutenant Priya Mahajan in mobilizing the youth for such social causes, the worthy Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar said that PCM S.D College for Women, Jalandhar has always been a frontrunner in shaping a beautiful society by making its student responsible, well-informed and dedicated towards the social and environmental concerns. She further stated that such dynamism for the community life in the students and the staff could have been possible only because of the constant inspiration and patronage of the visionary management of the college.
