PG Department of Fashion Designing of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organizes Workshop on Practical Approach in Designing

PG Department of Fashion Designing organized a workshop on ‘Practical Approach’ in Designing. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Jyoti Kapoor, fashion designer and a fashion entrepreneur from ‘R-Destination’ (Jalandhar City). She shared her valuable thoughts about girl empowerment and also encouraged students to be more creative and imaginative. She guided students, how to use principles and elements of designs in costumes to become a successful designer which is a current need in fashion industries. Madam, Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora appreciated the efforts done by Mrs. Sunita Bhalla, head of the department and other faculty members.

Punjabi Department of PCM S.D. College for Women celebrates Mother Tongue Day

A lecture was organized on ‘Mother Language Day’ by the department of Punjabi of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar. On this occasion Dr.(Mrs.) Surinder Kaur Narula, Head of the Department told students about the importance of mother tongue and said we should all be proud of our mother tongue Punjabi. She opined that our feelings of mind are well expressed in ones mother tongue. She also said if you want to get success in life then Speak Punjabi, Write Punjabi and Read Punjabi. On this occasion Dr. Harkamal Kaur, Dr. Surinder Kaur, Dr. Sukhbir Shergill and Mrs. Ritu Gill were present.

PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organizes 46th College Fete

PCM S.D. College organized 46^th College Fete wherein Shri Purushottam Lal Budhia, President of Managing Committee was the Chief Guest. He received a floral welcome from the members of the managing committee of the college, Principal Dr. Kiran Arora, Fete Incharge of the college Mrs. Renu Tandon, Head Girl Kritika Maggo and the Youth Club President Manmeet. Chief Guest of the function and members of Managing Committee Sh. Naresh Budhia, Dr. T.N. Lama, Sh. D.K. Joshi and principal commenced the event with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

      The programme began with the chanting of group Bhajan. Anushka presented a sufi song. Bhangra was performed by the students of Dance department. Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the guests for their presence. Members of the Managing Committee, Principal Dr. Kiran Arora and Fete Incharge presented a memento to the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest inaugurated the fete and took a round of all the stalls. Stalls of various games and eatables were displayed at the fete. Singer Jenny Johal and Mr. Jelly performed on the occasion. The event concluded with a lucky draw. Lucky winners of the draw were given prizes on the spot. It was a grand show.
