Upholding the rich cultural traditions of the land and connecting young minds with them, PCM SD Collegiate Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar held a variety of competitions to celebrate the festival of Rakhi. In these competitions students made beautiful handmade rakhis using diverse materials commonly available at every home. In addition, students aesthetically decorated rakhi-thalis and made illustrative posters to highlight the significance of the festival of rakhi. In the rakhi-making competition, Ritika of 10+1 Medical and Harshita of 10+2 Arts remained the winners. Likewise, in the decorative rakhi-thali making competition, Shrishti Gupta of 10+1 Arts and Divpriya of 10+2 Arts won the prizes. Similarly, in poster-making competition, Jasmine Kohlar of 10+1 Medical and Khwaish of 10+1 commerce received the prizes. The consolation prize was awarded to Mitanshi Sharma of 10+2 Medical. Jubilant at the enthusiastic participation of the students in these competitions, the worthy Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar stated that the organization of such events is in accordance with the vision of the Management regarding nurturing creativity in the students and connecting them to the roots. She also applauded the in-charge of the school Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma for such creative initiatives for the overall development of the students.
