The current
situation due to the COVID-19 has brought everything to a complete halt.
However the learning must not stop. In pursuit of efforts to learn and perform,
the girls of SD College have always came forward. The students have been
actively participating in various National Level Competitions that are being
conducted by various institutions during the coronavirus outbreak. The students
of M.Com participated in various events in E-COMFEST 2020, organized by
Department of Commerce, Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women, Gurdaspur.
Manmeet & Amanpreet of M.Com Semester IV won 1st prize in the
Power Point Presentation on the topic ‘Work from home – An opportunity or a
challenbge’, while Kritika Maggo again a student of M.Com Sem IV won IIIrd
prize in the short Video competition on the topic ‘Mask India- A Way of Life in
Future’. It is worth mentioning that these girls have always been very
dedicated and hardworking and have always brought laurels to the institution by
emerging as winners in various competitions before also. Their excellent
performance once again has made the department of commerce as well as the
institution proud. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora also applauded the efforts of the
students and wished them luck for the future also.

PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar : outshine M.Sc. IT Semester 3rd Dec 2019 Result
Success
is the sum of small efforts being repeated day and day as well as overall
personality development. Result of M.Sc. I.T. Sem 3rd has been
outstanding. Ms. Sucheta from M.Sc. IT bagged 1st position by
securing 415/600, Ms. Gurdeep Kaur bagged 2nd position by securing
410/600 marks and Ms. Pooja stood 3rd with 396/600 marks in college.
Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora congratulated the students and faculty of PG
Department of Computer Science and IT on the remarkable success and also
appreciated them for their hard work.

Free Online Classes by PG Department of Commerce & Management, PCM SD College for Women
The
present pandemic of Covid-19 has brought everything to a standstill. But we as
educators have a responsibility to serve our future generations with the best
of knowledge and skill. Keeping this in mind the PG Department of Commerce
& Management, PCM SD College for Women has organized free online classes
for the students. The students would be learning various practical aspects
through E-Learning during this online program. These classes are being
conducted through the Zoom application so they are convenient as well as
knowledgeable for the students. These classes have been designed keeping in
mind the important areas that a must learn in today’s technological era. The
classes would enhance practical skills of the students with topics including
Tally ERP-9, Methods of E-Payments, E-Commerce, E-Banking and E-Filling of
Returns. Tally ERP-9 the accounting software helps to prepare computerized
accounts and through these classes students would learn Company Creation,
alteration and deletion, ledger entries and voucher entries. In the E-Learning
classes students would learn a variety of E-Commerce applications like Amazon,
Zomato and E-Payment applications like Google Pay, Phone Pe, Mobikwik and
Paytm. The students are being given hands on experience as to how they can use
all the applications on their mobile phones only. The course has already been
enrolled by a number of students even from far off areas as it is very easily
accessible. These classes would continue for the students in the coming days
too, so they can learn the latest trends in the field of Commerce while sitting
in the comforts of their homes.
