News of Chart Making Competition in PCM S.D. Collegiate Se. Sec. Girls School, Jalandhar

Department of Economics of PCM S.D. Collegiate Senior Secondary School organised Chart Making Competition in order to widen the outlook of the students regarding economic issues and to spot the budding talent of the students. Many students participated in the competition enthusiastically. The performance of the participants was adjudged by Mrs. Sushma Sharma, Dr. Sugandhi and Ms. Nidhi Dutta. Ms. Deepu Rana was declared Ist, Ms. Ankita and Ms.Nishtha were declared bracketed second, Ms Khushi won third prize. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora, Mrs Sangita Sharma incharge of the school congratulated the winners and appreciated the students for their active participation.

PCM S.D. Collegiate Sr. Sec. School for Women, Jalandhar witnessed Investiture Ceremony for the Academic Session 2019-20. The Chief Guest of the occasion Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora graced the ceremony. The dignified ceremony commenced with the floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora by Mrs. Sangita Sharma (Incharge - School block), Mrs. Monika Sharma (Co-incharge), Dr. Mrs Harkamal Kaur (Deputy Dean, Youth club). The Head girl of the school Ms. Laxmi also welcomed the Chief Guest on behalf of the students. Principal Madam conferred the badges on the appointees of the Central Association and Youth club and congratulated them on their stupendous achievement. Oath taking Ceremony was conducted by Ms. Kanika Jain, Incharge of the Function, where students pledged to serve the school and fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. The office Bearers dressed in resplendent code. The Chief Guest in her address exhorted the Office Bearers and student members of Central Association to perform their duties with zeal and determination and to be exemplary in their approach. Ms. Aastha is appointed as President of Youth Club. A total of 5 Office Bearers of Central Association, 4 Office Bearers of Youth Club, 2 Disciplines Incharges and 20 Class Representatives were conferred with the badges. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head Girl of the college. The Ceremony was attended by all the members of the Central Association and Youth Club.

A Freshers Party ‘Salutations – 2019’ was held for the students of +1. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kiran Arora graced the event by her magnificent presence. She inaugurated the bash with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, accompanied by Mrs. Sangita Sharma, the Incharge of the collegiate school block, Mrs. Monika Sharma, Co-incharge and Mrs. Sushma Sharma followed by a prayer song. The students exhibited their considerable prowess in folk songs and dance performances. Modelling competition was held to provide the freshers a platform to bolster their confidence. The titles were conferred upon them for the same. Tanya was selected as Ms. Fresher, Sunaina was chosen as Ms. Elegant and Komal was made Ms. Gorgeous, Dolly was chosen for best smile, Ankita was chosen for best catwalk, Arshiya was chosen for best accessory, Gurnmeet was chosen as best dress and Aanchal was selected for best hairstyle.

NCC Cadet Punita Sharma of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar represent Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh at Mountaineering Expedition 2019

Our college student Punita Sharma of B.Com Semester-IV has been selected as an NCC Cadet for Mountaineering Expedition 2019 to be held at Sikkim. Only twenty NCC Cadets from all over India were selected for the same. It is such prodigious honour that Punita Sharma is going to represent Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate. She will represent 2^nd Punjab Girls Battalion of Jalandhar NCC Group. This expedition will last for about 48 days. The cadets are supposed to scale Mount Thinchenkhong, Sikkim situated at the height of 6010m. Commanding Officer of 2^nd Punjab Girls Battalion, Colonel Jasbir Singh and reverent Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora felicitated the student and wished her luck for this assiduous undertaking.

Sakshi of SSC –II (Non Medical) of PCM SD Collegiate Senior Secondary School bags fourth position in Jalandhar Distt and twelfth position in state merit list of board examination

Sakshi of SSC-II (Non Medical) brought laurels to the institution by bagging fourth position in Jalandhar and twelfth in the board examination by securing 436/450 marks. Tamanna stood second in the college by securing 395/450 marks. Vanshi made it to the third position be securing 384/450 marks. Reverent Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora and Incharge Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma lauded the achievers. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora told that overall result of +2 all streams is excellent.
