PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar Launches Second Batch of Bajaj Finserv’s CPBFI

To make its students employable for banking, financial services and insurance industry, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Management of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv launched the second batch of Certificate Program in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) under Bajaj’s CSR initiative on 7 Oct. 2021 through online mode. The Co-ordinator of this program Mrs. Alka Sharma, the Head of the PG Department of Commerce and Management informed that CPBFI is a comprehensive, customized and practical certification program in the field of banking, Insurance and finance for bridging the gap between the industry and the academia by inculcating those skills in the students which are the requirement of the Industry and thereby developing the potential of the students to the fullest. The program, whose curriculum is a blend of domain knowledge and soft skills, is being attended by 44 registered participants of the college from B.Com (FS) and B.Com (Regular) final year. Miss Kirandeep of B.Com (Regular) Sem, V has been nominated as the Student Co-ordinator to co-ordinate between the student participants and the Bajaj Team. Mr. Raja C. Dcruz, who is the Senior Manager, CSR (Placement Support), Bajaj Finserv launched this course and informed that the course included subjects like Banking Operations, Insurance Management and Advanced Business Communication. He further stated that the journey of CPBFI started with identifying the training needs by conducting a quiz for the students followed by the launch of CPBFI training program. The technical support in this program is being provided by Mr. Kawaljit Singh, the Lead Trainer of the program. Speaking during the launch of the program, the worthy Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar said that the conduct of such skill-oriented programs is in accordance with the vision of the college Management to make girl students employable by imparting them skills and training required by the industry and service sectors.   She encouraged the students to participate actively and vigorously in such training programs being planned by the college from time to time for their better placement in the job market. Towards the end, she applauded the efforts of Mrs. Alka Sharma, the Head of the PG Department of Commerce and Management, in planning and executing such programs and offered her sincerest thanks to the whole team of Bajaj Finserv. The launching ceremony of the program was well attended by the faculty of the college as well.

Sheeba of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar makes it to First position in University in MSc Fashion Designing Semester II; Mandeep Kaur bags fifth position.

 

The result of MSc Fashion Designing and Merchandising Semester II has been exceptional well. Sheeba nailed it to first position in University by securing 541(98.36%) marks. Mandeep bagged fifth position in University with 537 marks. Applauding the meritorious students on their success, the honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar wished them best for their future and commended the highly dedicated faculty of the Department of Fashion Designing for spectacular results year after year.

Anubhuti of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar makes it to the First position in the University in B.Voc Web Designing Semester II Results

The result of B.Voc Web Designing Sem. II of PCM S.D. College for Women,  Jalandhar has been remarkably outstanding. Anubhuti bagged first position in the University by scoring 365 (91.25%) out of 400 marks. Here it is worth mentioning that PCM S. D College for Women, Jalandhar in line with the Skill India Campaign of the Govt. of India offers so many skill orientated courses for girls such as B. Voc Web Designing and IT, B.Voc Accounting and Taxation, B.Voc Fashion Designing and Product etc. These courses equip the students for jobs in various sectors as well as entrepreneurship. In addition to this, the fee of these courses is very low and economical. After doing these courses, girls can explore and use their talents even by working from homes and thus gain a highly rewarding self employment. PCM S.D. Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jalandhar celebrates International Daughters’ Day.

 

 

To sensitize the society regarding the utmost significance of girls in social fabric and promote women empowerment and gender equality, PCM S.D Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jalandhar celebrated the Daughters’ Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mrs. Parveen Abrol, the founder of the renowned NGO Divya Drishti who impressed the students immensely with her candid views on gender equality in her address to the students. Later showcasing their talents in diverse fields, the girls of the school performed various activities such as Classical Dance, Punjabi folk dance, mimicry, songs, poetical recitation poster making, speeches and skit during the event. Jubilant at such enthusiastic participation of the students, the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar stated that the organization of such events is in accordance with the vision of the Management who is ardently working for the cause of women empowerment by making girls educated and preparing them to meet the challenges in the global world. She also maintained that the objective for celebrating this day has been to spread awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by the daughters in the country, to promote awareness about the rights of a girl and to increase awareness regarding the importance of girl education, health and nutrition. Simranjit of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar tops in GNDU M.Sc. Fashion Designing Semester IV result

 

The result of M.Sc. Fashion Designing Semester IV of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar has been exceptional well. Simranjit bagged first position in the University by scoring 2045 (92.95℅) out of 2200 marks. Here it is worth mentioning that fourteen students of this class have passed the examination with distinction and thus made the institution proud. The honourable members of Managing Committee and the worthy Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar applauded the students and praised the Department of Fashion Designing for these spectacular results and wished for the bright future of the meritorious students. She also averred that the college provides a highly conducive academic atmosphere and infrastructure for the students to excel in their studies.

The GNDU result of B.Voc Web Designing and Development  Semester IV  of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar has been remarkably outstanding. Hiya and Jaspreet bagged fourth position in the University by scoring 359 out of 400 marks. Adding to this glory, Lovedeep stood fifth in University by getting 346 marks, Rinki   grabbed sixth University position by getting 345 marks, Ekta achieved seventh University position by 336 marks, Simran got eighth University position by 320 marks and Harleen secured ninth University  position by getting 313 marks. The honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal of the college Dr.(Mrs.) Pooja Prashar felicitated   the students for bringing laurels to the name of the institution. She also praised the innovative Department of Computer Science for these spectacular results and wished for the bright future of the meritorious students.
